Title:Madonna and Child, Church of Our Lady in front of Tyn
Notes:The Madonna dates from mid 17th century. It replaced a sculpture program of a huge golden chalice that represented the Hussites and their freedom of religion perspective. After the Thirty Years' War, Catholicism became more entrenched, the golden chalice was melted down, and the gold was used to gild the mandorla of the Madonna and Child.
